The purpose of Mt. Olive’s Christian Preschool is to provide a rich, loving environment that offers a positive child development program which includes these areas:
Spiritual - Nurtures a positive feeling of love and trust in God as Creator and Father and Jesus as their Friend and Savior. Also develops the concept of loving and forgiving their neighbors.
Intellectual - Stimulates interest in exploring and learning through the use of the five senses and various activities. Also, sets the groundwork for a positive attitude towards learning.
Social - Increase the child’s ability to cooperate, plan and interact with peers and also foster a feeling of respect for others and their property.
Physical - Improves gross and fine muscle coordination, develops body awareness and control through indoor and outdoor activities.
Emotional - Reinforces a positive attitude of self-worth, self-confidence and self-discipline.
The learning experiences from these areas will assist each child in developing his/her abilities and the feeling that he/she is a special, worthwhile child.

Andrea Toia is our new Director although she is not new to our preschool. She discovered she wanted to work with preschool children through serving here at Mount Olive with previous Director, Laurel Zobel. She also worked with Kathy at that time as well. She will serve as our lead educator. Andrea is a member of Mount Olive and lives in Cross Plains.
Kathy Germanotta has been with the school for 13 years. She also had children who attended preschool at Mount Olive.
Both Andrea & Kathy love the community of the preschool, teaching children, and the wonderful families who attend each year. They look forward to new families and new experiences. If you ever want to pop down to the preschool to meet them, they would be happy to see you. Or if you know any families that have preschool age children that would enjoy the preschool at Mount Olive, please let them know!
Pastor Torkelson serves as the spiritual advisor to the preschool. He helps with Bible curriculum and chapel services twice a month. He too loves working with children, singing with them, and sharing the loving stories of the Bible. He is married to Mount Olive's acting Director of Music, Jennifer, and they have eight children of their own, ranging from 12 to 26 years old.
